The "Land of Lightning" Kelantan, was derived from "kilatan". With population overwhelmingly with Malay and the state is sometimes known as the 'Cradle of Malay Culture' keeping alive traditions such as kite flying, wayang kulit, songket weaving and batik design. It might not be one of the most popular tourist destinations in Malaysia, but it’s certainly worth a visit. One of the largest cities along Malaysia’s sleepier east coast, it’s perfect for a quick weekend getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. By the way, dont forget and must try a local favorite cuisine that called Nasi Kerabu which includes blue rice and a number of delicious curries.
